Launch of LogoLink Latin America and LogoLink South East Asia websites As part of its Translation and Dissemination Initiative (TDI), LogoLink partners in both Latin America and South East Asia have now set up their independent regional websites. These websites share research materials, processes and resources with the wider LogoLink network, but are focused on resources specifically relevant to their respective regions, and based on the work of the partner institutions. LogoLink's South East Asia partner IPD - Institute of Popular Democracy - is behind the new website focusing on local governance issues in the Philippines. The website concentrates on the outputs of IPD's activities with the LogoLink network, and draws on IPD's background in researching the politics of local budget processes, and the democratization of local change processes. The website also has a space for IPD's resources on training, networking and advocacy.
LogoLink's partner in Latin America, the Instituto Pólis, based in Brazil, has guided the development of the LogoLink Latin America website. This website represents a wider network of research insitutions, non-governmental and civil society organisations across 11 countries in Latin America. The thrust behind the site is LogoLink's Translation and Dissemination Initiative, which aims to translate key documents on LogoLink's research on Local Governance and Citizen Participation, between English, Spanish and Portuguese. The objective is to make research work produced in Latin America more widely available, including a strategy to provide online access to documents.
