Publication drawing on experiences from Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines The Institute for Popular Democracy (IPD) has produced a new report entitled "Citizen Participation in Local Governance: Experiences from Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines." Divided into two parts it draws on research into Civil Society Engagements in Local Governance. The first part "Frameworks for Citizen Participation", provides a systematic overview of laws and policies that have provided inroads for citizen participation in Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines. The second part, "Civil Society Engagements in Local Governance", describes how civil society actors are responding to the varying opportunities opened up by the decentralisation processes in each country.
