Civil Society Engagements in Local Governance

"Civil Society Engagements in Local Governance" was the theme of LogoLink South East Asia regional planning meeting held in Manila, Philippines, on 7-9 April 2003. The meeting served as a venue to collectively sharpen the learning agenda of LogoLink South East Asia for the second phase of the project.

Cross-country research commissioned on this topic provided valuable input for the planning process on future LogoLink South East Asia learning initiatives and networking. The meeting allowed participants to share lessons on civil society engagements in local governance, critically assess and map trajectories of current trends in civil society-state interaction at the local level, and identify arenas for strategic collaboration among stakeholders.

The workshop gathered participants from Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia and Cambodia.
