The LogoLink annual partners meeting took place in
Cape Town, South Africa on 19-21 July 2005. The regional partners from
Latin America (Central America and the Caribbean, the Andean region, and
the Southern Cone), South and Southeast Asia, Eastern and Southern Africa,
and the North were present to review LogoLink activities in the past year
and plan for the current and coming year. Representatives from the Ford
Foundation were also present. The meeting was hosted by the Foundation
for Contemporary Research (FCR), the anchor of the Good Governance Learning
Network (GGLN) in South Africa, and LogoLink partner for Southern Africa.
The LogoLink partners meeting also overlapped with
a learning event organized by the Good Governance Learning Network. LogoLink
partners were able to participate in some sessions of this learning event.
The partners meeting also coincided with a visit
to South Africa by Susan Beresford, the President of the Ford Foundation.
This provided the LogoLink partners with the opportunity to present how
the LogoLink program has helped to support national and regional networks
as part of the global learning initiative on citizen participation in
local governance.
